The Swedish brand has created the perfect match of beauty and tech with the Luna 3.
What is it?
The FOREO Luna 3 is a cleansing device that does so much more. The soft silicone bristles smooth and cleanse the skin, there is also sonic power behind it which gives the skin a buzz. The website says is gives you clean, firm, smooth and glowy skin – yes please.
Initially, I had no idea what this was. Having never heard of the Luna 3 or FOREO Brand before, I was going in blind.
I saw the price point, saw that you needed an app and was curious how this cleansing product could be worth it? Here is the range at Mecca, the Luna 3 will set you back $299.
Is it worth it?
I would have to say yes. Yes to clean, firm, smooth and glowy skin – think of it more as device which delivers a ‘SMART FACIAL’ which firms, lifts, sculpts and even tightens skin, whist cleansing /removing impurities – rather than a cleansing device.
Thank goodness I found product through the Beautyheaven trial team because I am not sure I would have stuck with it and figured out how to use it if I was not.
The box came in the mail with no instructions. Only the code to an App you have to download. I downloaded it, plugged it in and … nothing.
I am pretty tech savvy but this had me stumped. I plugged it in, left it on charge and tried several times to pair the thing. After a few attempts and even trying to get help through the chat on the App nothing worked. After a week of this I have to say I was pretty frustrated. But then it turned on and started to work!
As soon as I used it for a cleanse on my skin I could see why it was so useful. It’s super gentle and gives an amazing clean in no time at all. Now, it’s so easy to use, keep clean and does not need too much charging.
I now use it everyday, morning, night and even before I put makeup on. It makes so much sense I don’t know how I lived without it.
The Acai Berry Glow Illuminator from Raww Cosmetics could be the makeup stick of my dreams. The all-natural highlighter winds up like lipstick and features a buff brush to perfect the look. It’s just genius.
These days, it’s rare to find truly natural, vegan products that are not tested on animals. There are previous posts on Raww Cosmetics, but we had to dedicate another review on the Acai Berry Glow Illuminator. The company behind Raww Cosmetics knows a thing or two about conscious beauty and have managed to tick all these boxes. This includes being Australian owned and made plus a few more reasons.
Five reasons to LOVE Raww Cosmetics:
Australian made (aside from a few brushes you can’t make here!)
Certified vegan – by the vegan society
Organic/ Certified Cosmos Natural – Full of natural and certified organic ingredients
It’s full of glowy goodness
Acai Berry Glow Illuminator Review
I honestly think Raww Cosmetics Acai Berry Glow Illuminator sells itself. So here is a little review with an added how-to, cos if you like to glow, you will love this.
The lightly coloured, luminescent tone seamlessly blends with any skin shade. The scent is this heavenly acai berry that smells like Summer – it will transport you to a better place (and headspace). It is just the glow I want to achieve each day.
It is not easy to find a great glow, but this one helps one achieve goddess status. The effortless glow comes from the list of 100% natural ingredients used including coconut oil, vitamin E, Pomegranate Oil, and Macadamia Oil. The mix nourishes the skin, plus it is infused with chia seed to help fight free radicals for a truly glowy complexion.
Natural Ingredients = Natural Glow
Not only does it have that beautiful luminescence of a highlighter, but it also gives an extremely natural-looking, dewy glow. The natural makeup creates a soft consistency when blended with skin. Forget an oily film or sticky, clumpy powder – plus, the buffer brush makes sure of that.
I no longer have time to wear make up every day but when I do I try to keep it simple. A base, mascara and a little brow gel, something on cheeks, gloss and this Acai Berry Glow Illuminator will do the trick.
How To Apply
Wanrning: less is more. You may be tempted to rub this all over your face, excercise restraint for a beautiful effect.
Best used over a base (form moisturiser, sunscreen, primer or foundation), from there, simply glide the highlighter to the ‘high’ points of your face – the ones you want to stick out, such as.
cupids bow (upper lip)
tips of cheekbones
bridge of the nose (if, unlike mine, your nose is straight)
Turn the stick around to the buffer brush and buff a little into the skin to ensure an all around, even glow. Seriously, this buffing brush at the other end is a bonus for a flawless finish wherever you are.
Raww Cosmetics creates this lipstick-like contraption tool is a great design. I love anything on a stick, it just makes it quicker and easier to use. Adding this into a cream highlighter and built-in brush is a stroke of genius. It is hygienic, allows for plenty of creamy product to be packaged in the tube and evenly distributed.
Tools are perfectly complimenting the luxe packaging, the price point is an affordable $24.99 online and the product itself is beautiful.
Tip: Use a little finishing spray for the glow to last all day.
The effects are truly glowy, not pearly, or sparkly or shiny, just that gorgeous ‘OMG you’re glowing feel’. The feels are so good my girlfriend ‘misplaced’ my one of these and it’s now all used up so we’re off to restock!
I found myself wondering why Father’s Day was not on par with Mothers Day. With an equal amount of Dads as there are Mums, why significant difference in celebrations? The work should be shared. Plain and simply, Dads deserve their day.
So here are some suggestions to make Dads day.
Breakfast in bed. Most fathers I know are the first awake and out the door before the rest of the snoozing family is up (very true in my case). If you don’t read anything else here, at least take this: A lie in and some food – think pancakes, OJ and a cuppa – is sure way to make Dads day.
On a Personal Note
Father figures are big in my life and I’m always trying to let them know how much they are appreciated. Dads never want to make things a big deal, but they are. I watched my father quit work and dedicate his life to us, three kids. He played every full-time role, from a housekeeper, hairdresser to breadwinner, chauffeur, counsellor and more. Dad did everything he could to give us the best chance in life. I grew up fast as the oldest at 16, but am forever thankful.
My partner is the best possible Dad to our young twins, a true inspiration, and lifeline to our family. We just adore him. These men, like many others, will do anything for their families. They at least deserve a little thanks, and perhaps some time-out, on us.
So without a whiff of old socks or soap, here are a few more free, tested and inspiring ideas to make Dads day:
Ways to Make Dads Day
Taking from the old ‘Pamper Mum’, it’s time to pamper Dad. Men still seem to shy away from day spa’s and grooming services. They just need a nudge in the right direction. Father’s Day is a great excuse to get them there. (I feel a sense of duty here to recommend some great places you can send them to ‘glow’), so here you go:
An easy-access hotel spa voucher won’t let you down, try Spa by Chuan at The Langham or SpaQ at the QT. The QT Barber Shop next door is male grooming heaven. Nestled in the basement of the old Gowings Building, the cool, calm & timeless MR BOND SHAVE VOUCHER is a good start.
If the bloke prefers to shave and ‘pamper’ from the comfort of his own home, try a traditional shaving kit. First, they look lovely on the shelf and add a little luxury to a man’s every day. It encourages them to take some time for himself. The one pictured is from Dr. Harris, is a treat. The old school British company has been making these kits since the 1790s. You can find along with a few other masculine treats here.
Goldfield & Banks: Wood Infusion
Back to true Australian roots, the fine fragrance brand Goldfield and Banks’ brand pays homage to Sir Joseph Banks. As a botanist and naturalist, he was often referred to as the ‘Father of Australia’. Fitting for Father’s Day, (I only found this out after choosing this fragrance for my father and doing my research!).
Inspired by Australia’s unique flora, Goldfield & Banks produces the finest quality fragrances for both men and women. This particular bottle of Wood Infusion has a delicate top note of White Sandalwood, found in the Kununurra region of Australia. The bottle it is inspired by the wood species found around the white sandy beaches of Fraser Island. Blending the exotic spices with local, rich wood, this is a heavenly scent.
“Inspired by the lush nature of the balmy heritage listed Fraser Island in the Pacific Ocean, Wood Infusion is a celebration of all wood species found around the island. This fragrance is an exotic infusion of Australian woods enriched with Sandalwood Album, Iris and velvety Agarwood (Oud Wood).” Goldfield & Banks

Why get him a book (my Dad needs no more books), when you have a whole library? Besides the fact that this is a thoughtful gift that keeps on giving, this covers the dudes who say they don’t want/need anything.
Share books, magazines, explore multi-media and get involved in community events – the local library can unlock a whole new world. It’s accessible, endless knowledge served free to feed the mind.
“The only thing you need to know is where the nearest library is” – Albert Einstien
A Home-made Card
On that free note, nothing is nicer than a homemade card with a little note to say thanks, I love you. And maybe a Dad joke whilst you’re at it…
What do you call a man with a rubber toe? Roberto.
Last on the ‘wish list’ is certainly wishful thinking. I leave you with this beautiful and appropriately named artwork by Dale Frank:

To all our fathers, father figures, those who are both, and those here and elsewhere. On ya, Dad.
